The E.A. Fairbairn Water Treatment plant provides about half of the drinking water supply for the City of Sacramento. Located just off the American River, this treatment plant was originally built in 1964, and was in need of upgrades to the existing infrastructure, as well as an expansion to keep up with current demand.
BCI was awarded a contract to provide electrical and instrumentation systems in support of this expansion from 80 MGD to 160 MGD capacity. Work included construction of a North Power Center, South Power Center, MV 800hp VFD’s, MCC’s, Instrumentation Systems, lighting systems, fiber optics, security/CCTV, gate controllers, fire alarm, & telephone/data systems.
