Rinconada WTP Residuals Management Project

Below are some updated progress pictures of the Centrifuge Building, Gravity Thickeners, and Solids Loadout area. Also shown is the 12kV substation BCI installed to support these new facilities. Work is expected to be complete in late 2015.

SFPUC San Antonio Pipeline (Sunol)

The objective of this project was to install approximately 6,600 feet of 66-inch diameter of welded steel pipe located along the west side of Calaveras Road from the Alameda Siphons on the south to the edge of the SMP-24 quarry pit on the north. The project also included an open cut crossing of the San Antonio Creek channel, construction of  chemical facility, discharge structure, cutoff wall, and dewatering pumping system.

BCI’s scope of work was to supply and install the electrical and instrumentation systems to support this project. Work included installation of 21kV – 480V power distribution, Switchboards, MCC’s, UPS, 150kw Standby Generator, CCTV System, Access Control System, PLC Control Panels, Chemical Analyzers, 66″ Flowmeter, Coriolis Flowmeters, and other miscellaneous instrumentation.

The project was completed in 2015.

Warm Springs tunnel ventilation

The BART Warm Springs Extension project features 2 ventilation structures that provide tunnel ventilation for the BART ROW underneath Lake Elizabeth in Fremont. Below is a photo from one of the ventilation structures featuring 2 parallel sections of 14′ x 14′ ventilation ductwork currently being installed.

VSFCD Influent Pump Station

This project was completed in late 2014 and included installation of cable trays and VFD rated cabling to the influent pumps at the Vallejo Sanitation Flood Control District.

BART 19th Street Station Entrance Enclosure Pilot

BCI was recently awarded the BART 19th Station Entrance Enclosure Project. The goal of this pilot project is to create a context sensitive entrance that enhance users’ comfort and safety while improving station security. The station enclosure involves features such as stainless steel wire mesh, accent lighting, real time displays, a coiling door, and a sidewalk glass system. Work also includes a new station identification pylon and kiosk. Work is expected to be completed by December 2014.

SSF WPCP Demolition Activities

With temporary switchgear and feeders in place, demolition of the existing building, equipment and generators was able to proceed. Below is a photo highlighting the removal of the existing generator lineup.
