ACWD LOX Conversion Project

BCI was recently selected to perform the electrical and instrumentation upgrades associated with the LOX Conversion and Process Upgrades project for ACWD. The electrical and instrumentation portions of work will support the installation of a liquid oxygen storage tank, vaporizers, ozone system power supply units, vertical turbine pumps, solids handling pumps. Electrical work includes 12kV Distribution Feeders, Switch, and Transformer, VFD’s, and Process Instrumentation Systems.

SFPUC San Antonio Pipeline Project

Preliminary construction activities are underway on the SFPUC San Antonio Pipeline Project, which includes installation 6,600′ of 66″ welded steel pipeline, control structures, chemical facilities, discharge structures, and other various facilities. BCI’s scope of work includes electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, as well as building HVAC systems to support the pipeline work. This project will be complete in late 2014.

Standby Generator and Bus Duct Replacement Project

BCI was recently awarded a contract for electrical and standby power improvements at the South San Francisco / San Bruno Water Quality Control Plant. This project consists of demolition of an existing standby generator building, construction of a new pile-supported standby generator building, installation of a new 2000KW standby engine generator and switchgear, and replacement of an aging busduct system with a new 2500A rated cable bus system. Work is expected to be complete in 2014.

MUNI Integrated Systems Replacement Project

On January 15th, SFMTA Board of Directors approved a recommendation to award the MUNI Integrated Systems Replacement Project to BCI. The scope of this project includes replacing and installing the Subway Public Address/Platform Display System (PA/PDS), the Subway Facility SCADA system, the Motive Power SCADA System, installing a new Subway Fiber Broadband Network (FBN) System, new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems, and upgraded HVAC systems. This project is expected to be complete by August of 2014.

NTP received on Sunnyvale Water Plant Reconstruction

BCI has received a Notice to Proceed for reconstruction work of the Sunnyvale Wright Avenue Water Plant. Work includes replacement of (3) 90HP LPG engine-driven emergency pumps, replacement of pump station roof and structural components, replacement of the main switchboard, motor control center, control panels, and installation of a new diesel-powered standby generator. Work is expected to be complete by summer of 2013.

BART Fire Alarm Renovation – M-Line

BCI was recently awarded a contract to replace existing fire alarm systems at (7) BART stations located throughout San Francisco and Daly City with new detection and alarm systems. Work on this project is expected to be completed by April of 2014.

BCI awarded Soulajule Pump Station Project

BCI was recently awarded the Soulajule Pump Station Diesel Engine Replacement Project for Marin Municipal Water District. This contract includes removal of two 930 BHP diesel engines and provision of two new 800 HP electrical motors connecting to existing centrifugal water pumps; modification of two existing centrifugal water pumps, exhaust systems, (2) 480V motor control centers, generator tap box, fuel piping modifications, and an 800kw rental generator for functional testing. Work is expected to be completed by summer of 2013.

NTP received for BART Site Hardening Project

BCI recently received a NTP from Bay Area Rapid Transit for the Site Hardening of 3 Stations – Civic Center Station (SF), Downtown Berkeley, and 19th Street (Oakland). This $2.7 million contract will include installation of various hardening devices and equipment.

Rinconada WTP Generator Installation

Below are some pictures from a recent Generator and Fuel Tank installation at the SCVWD Rinconada WTP in Los Gatos, CA. This unique installation involved separating a 2000KW Diesel Powered Portable Generator from its trailer assembly and installing the Genset as a permanent unit on a new elevated foundation and retaining wall. Alongside the relocated Generator is also a relocated SuperVault Concrete Fuel Tank.
